How To Properly Use Sunscreens

Check if you're applying sunscreens the right way.

A lot of us think that we are doing it right when applying sunscreens to our skin, but survey shows majority of us are doing it the wrong way. For this, we gathered information to give you the idea on how to properly protect yourself from the harmful UV rays of the sun.

Tanning is really in, but to much exposure to the sun may be harmful to your skin and health, that  taking extra careful with applying sunscreen protection is highly recommended.

Health Canada find out that there are two types of sunscreens that you can use: Chemical and Physical. Physical sunscreeen "use small particals that will scatter and reflect both UVA/UVB rays. Usually they are titanium dioxide or zinc oxide." Make sure that when you use the product it has proven SPF.

Chemical sunscreens "use a variety of filters to absorb the rays and turn them into heat. More of them absorb UVB than UVA." Make sure that the sunscreen you used that contains this product has a DIN (Drug Identification Number) on its package or container.

Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before you bask in the sun to make sure the substance is properly absorbed by the skin. Reaply the substance 20-30 minutes after the first application to make sure all areas are fully covered.
